Howdy! A few months ago, I got my first pet in my adulthood - a beautiful ball python.

Her name is Glitter! Have you ever seen such a beautiful little girl? I love her so much!
Now, I've never had a snake before so everything about this little lady is a learning experience. Shedding, feeding, her enclosure needs, all of it. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent scouring the internet looking for advice and information on how to make Glitter the happiest little snakey in the world.

This is less an educational post and more of a brag - my baby is so CUTE. I used to be a little scared of snakes but she's literally the sweetest little lady. She makes the cutest hat, doesn't she?
If you're interested in snakes, I highly recommend a ball python. They're great for beginners - they don't require a ton of time, they're relatively inexpensive, and they have such sweet personalities.
Set up costs may run a big high, but actual maintenance is low. We feed Glitter once a week and a mouse costs around $3. You can get them in larger quantities if you'd like, but it depends on how much space you have in your freezer.

I'll literally never stop bragging about my baby!
Another bonus about ball pythons is that they don't make noise, and they don't really smell. They go potty, of course, like every living being does, but as long as you scoop it out of their enclosure in a reasonable amount of time, you don't really smell anything. Theyre very low maintenance. Eat once a week = poop once a week.
They're very sweet animals and are great for introducing people to their first snake.
I really could go on and on about how much I love Glitter.
If you're looking to adopt a snake, I highly recommend a ball python!
